Detective cage knows the truth for he found the rape victims 12 year old daughter wandering alone on country road. I do not subscribe to revenge or vigilante justice, but this followed a standard successful formula.
Horrifying criminal activity is followed by the justice system protecting the guilty and further victimizing and failing to protect the innocent victims.
We enjoyed the movie without letting it make us violent and vengeful. It was ok at best, but it was drawn out way too long.
There were more "emotional" "feel bad for me" scenes than anything else and they weren't genuine. Everything in the movie felt forced and drawn out.
I like Nick Cage a lot, great actor, but this was not one of his best. The story just isn't believable. Towns don't rally around piece of trash crack babies in real life and cops don't go around killing off defendants.
See it for yourself and you'll more than likely understand what i'm trying to say. I enjoyed this film. It's similar to Death Wish. Something horrible happens and revenge is taken.
Don Johnson is great as a strictly business lawyer. Nothing that you haven't seen before. Cage is cool as a no nonsense cop with a big heart.
Recommended for fans of revenge films. The title is a misnomer, until you reach the end of the movie, and you understand what the love story really entailed, and it was just so heartwarming!

Entertaining but would never be a first choice for me. Cage doesn't seem to have much range but picks movies that are suitable for him. Glad to see Don Johnson again, but it would be nice to see if he could do something different than a "flashy" character.
